I should offer a bit of explanation for people who don't play Exalted. The bordermarches - which Marena, in fox form, complained of in the last comic - are the outermost edge of the Wyld, the region of Creation where reality begins to fray. And since the rules of biology and suchlike aren't strictly enforced in such places, you get odd creatures, among other things.
