By way of a little explanation to people who don't play Exalted: both Misho and Flame have an anima power that can protect them from a certain amount of damage automatically. An anima power is a magical ability that can be activated at will but more often comes into play by itself once an Exalt's anima (the light that forms around their bodies when they use too much power) begins to show strongly.
